Naturalization / Permanent residency fast track comes into effect

The Ministry of Justice will push for a fast track for naturalization of outstanding scientific/ Technical talents from 2023.  So that foreign scientific/ tehnical talents who have studied in Korea can quickly acquire permanent residence and nationality in Korean society and successfully settle down.

This track is a system that allows foreigners with master's and doctorate degrees from KAIST, DGIST, GIIST, UNIST, UST, etc.

 

If their sesearch experience and performance meet certain standards, they can receive Korean citizenship through the Nationality Review Committee. 

Previously, it took more than six years for "excellent foreign talent" to acquire nationality in four to five stages.

But the implementation of the fast track made it possible to acquire nationality in three years.

 

* 4-5 Steps (Master and Doctor --> Professional position --> Residence --> Permanent Residency --> General naturalization)
